With the new GENIS 2 product line, TYROLIT is taking external cylindrical grinding to a whole new level of performance. The extended range of applications now makes the peel grinding of gear shafts possible, thanks to the use of the latest vitrified-bonded CBN technology. This innovative, high-strength bond features excellent wetting properties that enables optimum bonding of the CBN grain. A blue neutral zone protects the steel, aluminium or carbon-fibre body from damage and allows the CBN layer to be fully utilised. In addition, the strength of the bond allows for a reduction in bond volume creating a very open and extremely easy cutting structure with improved cooler grinding characteristics and a longer lifetime. The GENIS 2 from TYROLIT guarantees shorter cycle times and longer dressing cycles for users, thus minimising component costs
The blue neutral zone creates a visual separation between grinding layer and the core. This provides for optimum utilisation of the CBN grain and protection of the core.
X-treme diamond content for top performance in machining PCD and PCBN
“During the grinding process, the abrasive grit does all the work.” This is the guiding principle that shaped the development of SKYTEC XD-1. As a result, the new product line boasts an extremely high proportion of diamond grain, which is embedded in a specially developed bond. This leads to a considerably higher stock removal rate that significantly reduces both the grinding time per PCD indexable insert and the element of chip damage of the cutting edge. Therefore the quality of the cutting edge achieved is also outstanding. The new SKYTEC XD-1 increases the number of grinding products available for machining PCD and PCBN indexable inserts and, in particular, broadens the spectrum of possible applications. With this innovative grinding solution, TYROLIT is responding to the increasing performance demands for indexable insert manufacturing.
The high diamond concentration and the perfectly matched open bond system lead to increased stock removal rates and short grinding cycles.
TYROLIT is setting new standards in high-performance flute grinding with its STARTEC RC product line, which exhibits exceptionally low grinding forces and optimum stock removal rates with minimal profile wear. For example, the normal grinding force can be reduced by up to 26 per cent when flute grinding at a specific stock removal rate of Q’w=9mm3/mms. STARTEC RC´s higher feed rates enable users to boost productivity even further. This grinding tool guarantees top precision and an optimum surface finish on the ground workpiece. STARTEC RC optimises the processing of large workpieces and its benefits are particularly evident in applications that require high rates of stock removal.
The combination of process optimised diamond quality, the new metal bond system and innovative production technology guarantee low grinding forces.
The STARTEC XP-F product line is an innovative solution from TYROLIT for efficient polishing of functional surfaces on shank tools. Research and development focused specifically on ensuring targeted polishing at guaranteed levels of material removal. For this reason, STARTEC XP-F is equipped with a new synthetic resin bond with a high resistance to wear, which is combined with perfectly configured microdiamonds. This new specification allows users to fully remove all the material in the event of any dimensional inaccuracies , whilst achieving brilliant surfaces.
