At TYROLIT compliance with applicable environmental regulations goes without saying. In many areas, the company voluntarily and deliberately goes well beyond these minimum standards.

Grinding tools/wearing parts

Bonded grinding tools, which make up the largest proportion of the TYROLIT range, are regarded as wearing parts or tools under the provisions relevant for our industry. TYROLIT is guided voluntarily by the threshold values and prohibitions contained in the EU Directives relating to wearing parts.

In the interests of sustainable management, our high level of social responsibility and our endeavours on behalf of our customers, the TYROLIT Group is voluntarily adheres to the threshold values and prohibitions imposed by these standards. TYROLIT machines meet all the specifications of the EU Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), are assessed to ensure that they conform to its requirements and have the relevant CE markings. In accordance with the Directive, the tools used in our machines, such as our bonded abrasives, are considered neither as part of the machine itself nor as its "replaceable fittings". Tools do not fall within the scope of the Directive and therefore do not require a CE marking. However, TYROLIT provides all the instructions required for the correct and safe use of its bonded abrasives.

Wearing parts are not covered by the WEEE Directive (2002/96/EC) on electrical and electronic equipment, nor are they covered by the RoHS Directive (2015/863/EU) regarding the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in equipment of this kind.

As grinding tools are not products that are manufactured with this equipment, those provisions of the GADSL (Global Automotive Declarable Substance List) relating to the automotive sector are not applicable.

The Construction Products Regulation (CPR, EU Regulation 305/2011) also does not affect TYROLIT products, as they are not permanently integrated into structures or structural components.
